Vacancy Assistant/Associate Professor in Environment and Development

ISS is looking for a broadly trained candidate with an interdisciplinary background in the social sciences
ISS is looking for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Environment and Development. The successful candidate would be expected to carry out innovative research that can integrate various themes within contemporary development studies (e.g. climate change and its relationship to conflict, food sovereignty, indigenous rights, urban-rural linkages.).
Ability to critically engage with various global governance structures that deal with environmental issues and their corresponding policy initiatives (e.g. ‘Sustainable Development Goals’, ‘Green Growth’, etc.) would also be an asset.
In terms of regional specialization, current priorities include Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia.
